Items and Equipment

BlockZ focuses less on raw item count and more on how each item category affects carrying capacity, recovery, and tactical survival.

Backpacks

Backpacks are the most obvious source of extra storage, but they are not the only one.

  • backpack_coyote: a large late-game carrying option.
  • backpack_alice: classic heavy-capacity backpack for long trips.
  • backpack_czech: a medium option for progression.
  • backpack_czechpouch: a smaller early-game or lightweight choice.
  • backpack_patrolpack: optimized for mobility rather than maximum volume.

Clothing

Current clothing categories include vests, gloves, tops, pants, and shoes.

  • Vests usually act as tactical carrying extensions.
  • Tops and pants often provide extra pocket space.
  • Gloves and shoes currently support equipment completeness and future expansion.

Medical Items

Medical resources are a major part of the survival loop.

  • bandage: core bleeding treatment.
  • rags: emergency low-tier stopgap.
  • splint: fracture treatment item.
  • morphine_syringe and codeine_pills: pain relief and condition management.

Entity and Test Items

The project currently includes dayz_zombie_spawn_egg for testing custom zombie behavior and related loot flow.

System Items

Some items exist mainly to support internal mechanics or special interactions rather than ordinary gameplay progression.

Extending Item Rules

  • Grid size rules can be assigned to third-party items.
  • Internal capacity rules can also be extended without hardcoding every mod item into Java logic.
